And the Dream Continues
Lem and I have committed to a local 10 mile race in October, as well as a 5K in July. We have had two runs together that will eventually become our "long run" days. So far, those runs have been shorter distances of 3 and 4 miles, but we are acclimating to consistent running and the humidty. Amazing how 3 or 4 miles can feel like 50 when one has been away from distance running for a while.
Most of my workouts these days are gym-based. I have shifted my focus to strength training as I have entered my 60th year. I am enjoying this phase of life and training. It's been a challenge figuring out nutrition, hormones, and how to best provide what my body needs now, not what it used to need 20 years ago.
More accurately, I would say 20 years ago, my body was more forgiving of what I would put it through and it happily complied with what I asked it to until it just couldn't any longer. That's when my crash happened and I have spent the last 13 years trying to figure things out.
It has been a journey for sure. I may expand more about that here. For now, I want to revive my blog, record the endeavors I am blessed to try and perhaps find my way back to writing again.
